I love this book because it focuses on mindfulness meditation in everyday life. It displays simple ways and references to help create a mindful practice best suited for you, that doesn’t feel overwhelming. It is a quick read with deep results, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Hi Friends, it was my birthday a few weeks ago. I love celebrating my birthday lying in bed with no alarm, being away from my phone, waking up with the sun, sipping coffee, good food and no plans. We took the train and traveled to Upstate New York and did just that!  We stayed in this cute little hotel off the main street layered with coffee shops, local antique and vintage stores, my heart was so full. Getting out of the city and experiencing Hudson was just what my eyes  and heart needed for a birthday weekend!

I can only speak for myself, but when the weather is sunny and warm sometimes I feel like I need to be doing things, running around for errands and  keeping busy even though I have this deeper sensation to slow down, rest and get cozy at home watching The Real Housewives (shhh don’t judge!).

For the next few weeks I’m going to re-introduce the “10 minutes stillness” I used to do daily that I haven’t done consistently for so long. Starting today until the end of May  each day I’ll be setting a 10 minute timer, resting my body and mind. Some may call it meditation, I call it stillness and soul-time.

I want to breathe deep into spring weather  while welcoming summer, slowing down my mind sometimes from wandering in places that do not serve me and ultimately connecting to true-self even though the world around me can be moving so quickly. Summer and spring is the time for re-birth so I want to continue to evolve and fall in love with this life and myself. In these moments of stillness it’s me checking in telling myself  how proud I am of all my efforts and I view it as a little recharge of your soul.

I hope this resonates with you, choose any amount of time that feels best to you for stillness. 

I use the app Insight timer alternating between guided meditations and just soft background sounds. I hope you like it too.

I started doing workouts on Booty By Mich at the beginning of the pandemic after a friend’s recommendation. I’d been doing online workouts already for the first couple of months of being in lockdown but nothing ever stuck…until of course I found Mich. Since 2020, I’ve kept up with my BBM workouts, with little hiatus' here and there, and then whilst I was pregnant and the first 6 months or so of postpartum.

I was craving movement and longing to feel like myself again around the 6 month mark and Mich’s workouts were just what I needed to ease back into things - I started off with shorter, more flow-y workouts in the early days and eased my way up to the longer, more challenging workouts.

Today, I do a range depending on my mood and energy levels and of course, the time I have, but I love an intense 20-30 minute A.S.S Class or Full body, then paired with a short 5-10 arms or abs. Or on the weekends, I love a 30-40 minute Butter! I really look forward to waking a little earlier before my workdays to get 20-30 minutes of BBM - I roll out my mat in a small corner of our living room (or sometimes just next to my bed if it's in the evening), turn on our Noguchi Akari lamp my husband bought us for the home soon after my little boy arrived for a calming environment, take a few sips of warm water and I start. It’s a moment in my day for complete solitude, a time for myself and an opportunity to just be in the moment and to let my body move (no matter how long, short, gentle or intense the workout).

What I absolutely love about BBM is that Michelle has a kind and loving, yet inspiring approach to movement. She encourages you to be soft and gentle to yourself, but her workouts will leave you feeling strong and empowered. And most importantly, Mich has inspired me to have fun whilst working out - I end my BBM workouts feeling so happy and excited for the day and just life in general :) Thank you Mich!
